Writer: Carlos Coleman (osol0so)Carlos Coleman (osol0so)

Tell us where your from exactly and how's it been growing up there.

I was born in Grand Rapids but for a long time I was raised around 17th street in Holland. How it was being raised around Holland honestly it was kind of krazy I was exposed to a lot at a young age. I was going to parties at 10 and 11, I was exposed to the street life by my step father and all my uncles were in gangs. So growing up I just seen a lot and been through a lot. Mostly all my uncles got locked up from indictments when I was young so you can imagine it was tough seeing a lot shit, be here today and gone tomorrow and just dealing with abandonment issues at a young age. Even with my real father leaving me along with my grandma after we got raided a few times they decided to leave. They left me and my mom on my own and we stayed with my grand parents until my step father came around. When you're young you're interested in everything once you get older you realize you had to grow up quick or at least we felt like that because of what we were exposed to at a young age.

Where did you find your inspiration from music ?

Man where I found my inspiration for music had to be my cousin Elias. I remember when he first asked if I rapped, I lied and said yeah and spit sum off the top. He told me he was feeling it, bro had been rapping prior he was battle rapping at schools and everything which later made me want to try to do the same and just RHYME back and forth all night I remember we would stay up all night till the next day just smoking and rapping back and forth off the top over as much dope beats as we could find. So honestly, that’s where a lot of my inspiration comes from my cousin I remember even telling my cousin when I was young I was gonna have a song with Layzie Bone from Bone Thugs N Harmony and then years later I made it happen you know. That’s what this is all about I remember being young and just hitting up studios in the hood at the homies Krib and just going through the motions wanting to be something. All those times and then having my pops play artist like Master P, Twista, Lil Wayne, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Dayton Family, Notorious B.I.G, Brotha Lynch Hung and 2pac at young age made me want to rap. I remember being like 13 and asking my dad what my rap name was gonna be while he was listening to 2pac - Troublesome 96 and him and his boy told me just call yourself Troublesome name and just the drive for music stuck ever since.

So I know you make music for the listeners to play but what artist are you listening to right now ? What's a few artists on a Troublesome playlist ?

A few artist on my playlist right now honestly I been listening to this artist from Detroit named 1UP Tee he’s really dope and you can tell he just stands for something which is rare for most artist to sound like you value your word. Then of course I always keep Nas, 2pac, and Lil Wayne in my rotation Kendrick Lamar here and there but besides that prolly T.F from LA and Boosie Badazz recent project that’s probably who I’m listening to. I like to have a mix of everything the new and the old.

What's a few artists locally you would want to work with ?

I really feel like I worked with so many artist from the city that have done great things with so I’m blessed in that regard. I really want to work with The Seventh and Waldo also I would love to work with Sango his sound is krazy, also I would like to work with an artist from Kalamazoo named Headband Henny and Taxi cab.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years ?

Where do I see myself in the next 5 to 10 years ? I see myself in a place where I feel like I got off everything I wanted to say and just did what I wanted in terms of what was true to me and my loved ones. I see myself starting my own family a new house and me exploring other parts of my life. I see my music growing more and more and eventually I see myself finishing this project I always wanted to make and I’m actually working on right now, it’s a story that I hope everybody appreciates its called Patterns of Troubleveli With Guest Features From Dave East, Styles P, and Royce Da 59
